Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we can form a partnership that will help you discuss, assess, and process thoughts and feelings, with the hope of finding calm and joy in your life.
Through my expert training in family therapy, I have come to see families as a system where all members have a part to play in improving the family as a whole. Through family therapy sessions, I help families discuss their thoughts, feelings, improve communication, and find solutions that work for each unique family.
Counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection in all stages of their relationship. My training in family systems aids me in seeing couples as a unit, where both individuals can positively affect each other. Communication is important, but how it occurs is the key.
I have lived experience as a formerly undocumented, immigrant, young person, affording me a distinctive perspective when working with those processing their immigration cases, ex-pat status, and/or navigating being part of a family/couple influenced by these unique and often, difficult life factors.

It is difficult to describe the feeling that comes from being an immigrant, first-gen immigrant, or ex-pat. It is this unique duality of being "stuck between two worlds." At times, it can feel like you don't quite belong in either. Other times, our communities have expectations that do not fit our values. Through individual therapy, I can partner with you in helping you discuss and assess what values are important to you so that you can carve out your own, unique space in this multicultural environment. Through family therapy, I can help families struggling to mesh two worlds, that of the immigrant/first-gen/ex-pat parents who grew up with one set of values, and that of the child/ren who have adapted new values from their new community and surroundings. I can also help parents who are struggling to compromise on which values to utilize when raising their children in a multicultural household.
As a family therapist, I treat families affected by the Child Protective System. I have unique expertise in helping families discuss past ACS/DYFS/DCPP cases from a non-judgemental and systemic perspective. I help parents/guardians adjust their parenting techniques to improve relationships and avoid future engagement in the CPS system.
Through my work as a family therapist, I gained valuable skills in working with families where the child/adolescent has difficulties with school attendance, behavioral troubles at home, school, and/or the community, and interpersonal troubles with their family. Through my work as a family therapist, I gained valuable skills in working with families where the child/adolescent has difficulties with school attendance, behavioral troubles at home, school, and/or the community, and interpersonal troubles with their family. I employ a mix of individual counseling and family therapy, working with the child/teen, as well as partnering with the parents/guardians in finding solutions everyone can commit to.
